Corby AC to light up the track in support of ‘Let’s Lift the Curfew’
Corby AC is inviting the local community to come together next Wednesday (28 October) for a free evening of walking and jogging as part of the national Let’s Lift the Curfew campaign.

The floodlit athletics track will be open from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, providing a safe, enclosed and welcoming environment for people to be active after dark.
Let’s Lift the Curfew is a national This Girl Can campaign highlighting the safety concerns that can prevent women from being active outdoors after dark.
By coming together, being visible and lighting up our communities, the campaign aims to show support for safer, more inclusive spaces and send a clear message that no woman should have to change when, where or how she gets active because she doesn’t feel safe.
Corby AC is encouraging participants to wear bright colours, hi-vis clothing and flashing lights to help create a visible statement of support.
The session is open to everyone, regardless of running ability or whether they are a member of Corby AC. People can walk or jog at their own pace, complete as many or as few laps as they wish, join a group or ask for running advice.
The venue is buggy and wheelchair accessible, with free parking available. The clubhouse will also be open during the session for refreshments and an opportunity to chat. Please note that, due to the athletics track and the nature of the session, dogs are not permitted.
A spokesperson for Corby AC said: “We want everyone to feel welcome and able to be active after dark. This is a chance for the community to come together, be visible and show our support for safer and more inclusive spaces.”
By showing up, being visible and starting conversations, participants can help shine a light on an issue that affects millions of women every winter.
Together, the aim is to light up our community, lift the curfew and show that everyone deserves to feel safe and welcome being active after dark.
The Let’s Lift the Curfew session takes place at Corby AC on Wednesday, 28 October, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. It is free and everyone is welcome.
