Community comes together for charity football showdown in Wellingborough
A major community event is set to light up Wellingborough this Friday evening as Plumbco Ltd hosts a charity football match in support of local charity Ups N Downs.
Taking place on Friday 22nd May at 6:00pm at Wellingborough Old Grammarians Memorial Sportsfield, the free-to-attend event promises an evening packed with football, family entertainment, and fundraising – all for a vital local cause.
Organised by Plumbco Ltd, the match will see two teams made up of local players, staff, customers, suppliers and friends go head-to-head in a spirited Wellingborough vs Northampton clash.
Far from being just a football fixture, the evening has been designed as a full community celebration, with organisers encouraging families to come along and enjoy everything on offer.
A Match with Meaning
While bragging rights are firmly on the line between the two sides, the real focus of the evening is fundraising for Ups N Downs, a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people with Down syndrome and their families through education, activities, and ongoing community support.
Every donation made on the night – including a charity raffle featuring a wide range of prizes – will go directly towards helping the organisation continue its important work locally.
Fun for All the Family
Alongside the football action, attendees can expect a wide range of free and family-friendly activities, including a dedicated inflatable fun zone for children. Food and drinks will be available on site throughout the evening, with kids eating and drinking free, making it an accessible night out for families.
Organisers say the aim is to create an inclusive atmosphere where everyone can enjoy themselves, whether they are football fans or simply looking for a fun community evening.
