CMA Charity Shield brings community together in front of 250 attendees
On Sunday 9th August 2026, CMA Community Charity Shield football tournament, organised by the Corby Muslim Association (CMA), brought the local community together for an action-packed afternoon of football, with around 250 people attending to support the event.
The tournament was held in aid of Corby Central Masjid, with players, families, supporters and members of the wider community coming together to raise funds and support the mosque.
Bengal Tigers were crowned champions of the CMA Charity Shield after securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory against Bengal Ballers at Lodge Park Sports Centre in Corby.

The opening match of the day saw last year’s champions Bengal Blood FC take to the pitch against All Stars FC, setting the tone for a competitive start to the tournament. The fixture drew strong attention from spectators, as Bengal Blood FC looked to defend their reputation from the previous year, while All Stars FC aimed to make an early statement in the competition.
Although kick-off was originally scheduled for 12pm, the tournament got underway at approximately 1pm following the late arrival of invited guests. The short delay did little to dampen the atmosphere, with supporters eagerly awaiting the first whistle.
Once the action began, the competition proved to be intense, with teams battling it out throughout the tournament for a place in the final.
Bengal Tigers ultimately produced when it mattered most, edging the final 1–0 to lift the Charity Shield and finish the day as champions.

The winning side was captained by Arzad Chaudhury, who also finished as the top scorer of the tournament, playing a pivotal role in Bengal Tigers’ successful campaign. In addition to lifting the trophy, Bengal Tigers further underlined their dominance by securing individual honours within the squad, with the Golden Boot and Golden Glove winners both coming from the championship - winning team.
The narrow scoreline reflected a closely fought final, with both sides showing determination and commitment until the final whistle. Bengal Tigers held their nerve to secure the decisive goal and claim the trophy.
The 3 Referees appointed were - Khairuzzaman Ali (Luku), Sufiur Rahman and Abdul Ahad, who done a very good job of controlling the full tournament.
Eyusuf Chaudhury (Chairman of CMA) said: “The CMA Charity Shield is getting bigger and bigger every year, and this year our management team had to put in an extraordinary amount of effort to deliver an event of this scale.
This is no longer a small community event. It has grown into something much bigger, and we are now seriously considering the possibility of moving the tournament to a larger stadium in the future. We may even explore speaking with Corby Town FC about using their Steel Park facility.
This was also the first time we have welcomed such a large number of distinguished guests to the Charity Shield, which made the occasion particularly special. It is truly a blessed moment for Corby and for our community.
I am extremely grateful to everyone who attended and, most importantly, to everyone who remained patient despite the delayed kick-off, the lodge park duty manager for allowing us to complete the event and the Presentation. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support.
The success of this tournament shows what can happen when our community comes together, and we are excited to see how much bigger and better the Charity Shield can become in the years ahead.
Finally special thanks to Mohammed Mujibur Rahman (Secretary CMA) for presenting during the tournament and organising such a special meal for all of our guests.”
The Charity Shield provided an opportunity for the community to come together through sport while raising money and awareness for Corby Central Masjid (Mosque). The strong attendance demonstrated the level of support for community and charity initiatives across Corby.
With approximately 250 attendees at Lodge Park Sports Centre, the event was hailed as a successful day of football, charity and community spirit. Total raised amount £1,920
