The nominations recognise both the charity’s impact across Northamptonshire and its commitment to employee wellbeing. In 2025, Accommodation Concern supported 2,658 people, secured around £7 million in financial gains for clients through welfare, debt, housing and money advice, and provided supported accommodation for more than 100 residents. More than 95% of those who moved into independent accommodation have sustained their tenancy.

John Perry, Chief Executive Officer of Accommodation Concern, said: “We are incredibly pleased to be finalists for Charity of the Year. This recognition belongs to our whole team, whose determination and expertise make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives. The outcome achieved demonstrate the impact that compassionate, practical and person-centred support can achieve.”

The Workplace Wellbeing nomination reflects the charity’s focus on staff engagement, communication and support, recognising the demands of helping people facing homelessness, poverty and trauma.

Erica Knight, Executive Director at Accommodation Concern, said:

Our staff support people who are often in crisis, experiencing trauma or facing one of the worst days of their lives. That work is incredibly important, but it can also be emotionally demanding. We have put a great deal of effort into ensuring our employees feel listened to, valued and properly supported. We can only achieve positive and lasting outcomes for our clients when the wellbeing and resilience of the staff supporting them is protected.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 11 September 2026.
