The school's submission highlighted its unique ethos of being "the world in Northamptonshire", bringing together students from more than 30 nationalities alongside local families to create a community where academic excellence, cultural understanding and personal development go hand in hand.

Tony Oulton, Headmaster at Bosworth Independent School, said: "We're delighted that Bosworth has been recognised as Commended in the Regional Independent School of the Year: Central (Midlands) category at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026. This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, the ambition of our students, and the strength of our school community. We are proud to be a school where every student knows they belong, is encouraged to aspire to be their very best, and where every one of them flourishes."

The Independent Schools of the Year Awards celebrate the schools that are leading the way across every aspect of education, from academic success and pastoral care to innovation, inclusion and community engagement. Now in their ninth year, the awards have become a key fixture in the independent education calendar, providing national recognition for schools that deliver outstanding experiences for young people.

Dr Helen Wright, Chair of the Independent Schools of the Year judging panel, praised the calibre of entries, commenting: "Already, it is clear that the independent sector remains strong in spirit and outcomes, and as the judging process moves into its next phase, the judges look forward enormously to selecting and celebrating extraordinary practice."

Bosworth's commendation follows another successful year for the school, which has continued to strengthen its reputation for personalised learning, outstanding pastoral care and strong community engagement. Alongside excellent academic outcomes, the school has expanded opportunities for student leadership, volunteering and cross-cultural learning, while deepening partnerships across Northamptonshire through charitable initiatives, sporting collaborations and community events.
