Drayton Manor Park has announced that it will remain closed for the duration of February half term, following severe flooding in the park this week.

The park announced on Monday that it would be closed until at least today (Wednesday) after the main lake burst its banks, causing significant flooding on-site.

It also released shocking images of the flood water damage in the park.Read more: Drayton Manor Park CLOSED due to severe flooding in the aftermath of Storm DennisWith the extensive clean-up operation underway, management at the attraction has released a further statement today to confirm the park will remain closed for the duration of the half term break, reopening again for the first Thomas & Friends weekend on Saturday February 29.

    William Bryan, Managing Director at Drayton Manor Park, said: “Due to the extensive flooding in the park from the recent storms we have had to make the difficult decision to close for the duration of the half term break, for the clean-up operation to take place.

    “The Drayton Manor team has been working tirelessly to get the site back to normal as quickly as possible, and we will re-open to the public for our Thomas & Friends weekends starting on Saturday 29 February.

    “February half term is a popular time of year at the park and we understand many visitors will be disappointed to hear the news, but due to the extent of the damage we would be unable to offer the quality of experience we and our guests expect.

    “For any guests who have pre-booked tickets, we will be able to move reservations to alternative dates, including our popular March weekends, or during our main season. Guests can call the park directly on 01827 287979 to make arrangements.

    “As always, the safety of our guests and staff is our utmost priority, and we are doing everything we can to ensure the site is safe and secure for visitors to enjoy from next week.
