Santa Pod Raceway plans its biggest fireworks spectacular ever...all in a safe, Covid-secure environment

While sites around the country cancel their seasonal firework displays, Santa Pod Raceway will detonate a Fifth of November explosion of light and sound with the biggest display it has ever staged.

‘Fireworks Frenzy’ is the venue’s annual autumn family attraction, but its 2020 edition will play at an altogether higher level, incorporating the Covid-secure innovations that Santa Pod has already pioneered while teaming with the UK’s premier fireworks display artists.

Welcome to the all-aerial Fireworks Frenzy Drive-In.

Titanium Fireworks will deliver the pyrotechnics. This is the team whose expertise lights up London’s and Edinburgh’s colossal New Year’s Eve displays and a host of past events such as the Commonwealth Games and Rugby World Cup.

The bespoke display and soundtrack created exclusively for Santa Pod will be an all-aerial show so children won’t have to crane their necks to see over the heads of adults, and it will utilise Santa Pod’s extensive, paved paddock area to provide the socially-distanced drive-in facility.

Santa Pod has bucked the national trend this year by continuing to admit spectators to its racing events – under carefully crafted hygiene and safety measures subject to intense local authority scrutiny – while sports venues nationwide have had to close their doors.

The Fireworks Frenzy Drive-In will admit spectators by the car-load – maximum six occupants per vehicle, respecting the ‘rule of six’. Each vehicle will park in an allocated bay with space for its occupants to stand alongside if they wish, with each bay socially-distanced from its neighbours. Socially-distanced Grandstand viewing is also available; toilets and limited catering facilities are on offer too.

Fireworks Frenzy Drive-In explodes into the night sky at 7pm on Thursday 5th November (gates open from 5.30pm) at Santa Pod Raceway, near Wellingborough (NN29 7XA). Tickets (£45 per vehicle) must be booked in advance via www.santapodtickets.com or by telephoning the Box Office at 01234 782828. There will be no admission on the gate.
