Wicksteed Park will be holding its Magical Wicksteed event this year in the run-up to Christmas.

Confirmation of the festive event comes after many annual events were cancelled because of coronavirus, including Wicksteed Park's bonfire night celebrations.

Rachel James, head of sales and marketing at Wicksteed Park, said: "We are determined to do everything we can to end the year on a high and give everyone something festive to look forward too."

Magical Wicksteed will run every weekend in December as well as on the days leading up to Christmas (December 21, 22, 23, and 24).

There will be a festive train ride, reindeer food making, a visit to Santa's reindeer and the chance to meet Mr and Mrs Claus.

Children can also choose a gift from the elves' workshop for £15 per person.

The entry price also includes unlimited rides on Sway Rider and the carousel, and a "yummy treat" for adults.

Entrance for Magical Wicksteed must be booked in a bubble of up to six people. To assess demand, booking enquiries will be by email.

If you would like to attend Magical Wicksteed, email [email protected] with your preferred dates, the number of people you wish to book for and your phone number.

Organisers will then contact you to confirm your booking and take payment securely.

Ms James said: "We are asking people to bear with us as obviously things are a little different this year due to Covid-19.

"Things may change due to Covid-19 restrictions but we will make adjustments where necessary and hopefully people will understand and work with us.

"But we have made a commitment that if people are not happy with any changes that are required due to Covid-19 restrictions then their booking will be fully refundable."
