Who left Strictly Come Dancing tonight? Recap 7th exit as Vicky Pattison and Balvinder Sopal faced dance-off

Strictly Come Dancing has waved goodbye to yet another star - but who was it? 💃💃📺

  • Strictly Come Dancing has eliminated a seventh star.
  • Two more celebs faced the dreaded dance-off.
  • But who was eliminated in week 8?

Strictly Come Dancing has sent home a seventh star after the latest dance-off. It was another brilliant week on the ballroom floor - but unfortunately someone still had to leave.

The stakes were particularly high this week with a trip to Blackpool Tower just seven days away. No-one wanted to leave before that major competition milestone, but who would just miss out?

It was looking very tight at the bottom of the leaderboard with three of the celebrities separated by just two points before the public vote opened. But who became the seventh celebrity to be eliminated?

What did the Strictly leaderboard look like in week 8?

Unlike previous weeks, there was no specific theme in the eighth week of the competition. It saw the stars take on dances set to songs ranging from Aerosmith to sombr (one to ask your kids about!).

  • Amber and Nikita - 38
  • Lewis and Katya - 37
  • Alex and Johannes - 35
  • La Voix and Aljaž - 33
  • Karen and Carlos - 31
  • George and Alexis - 29
  • Vicky and Kai - 27
  • Balvinder and Julian - 27

How is the bottom two decided on Strictly Come Dancing?

Once again the overall result is based on a mixture of the scores from the judges and the public vote. These two are combined together to give an overall score and once that has been worked out, the celebrities who are at the bottom of the table then face the dreaded dance-off.

When it comes to the dance-off, the decision to leave is left solely to the judges. However, in a twist for 2025, the head judge does not always have the casting vote - which will separate the two celebrities if the votes are tied after the dance-off.

For series 23, the casting vote is being rotated around the panel and for week eight Craig Revel Horwood had it. But would he need to use it?

Who was in the dance-off in Strictly week 8?

For the second week in the row, the two celebs who were at the bottom of the leaderboard after the judges scores ended up in the dance-off. It was the case seven days ago and it happened again tonight (November 16).

Vicky Pattison and Balvinder Sopal found themselves in the dreaded dance-off during this evening’s results show. It was Balvinder’s fourth time in the bottom two, having survived it three times already.

For Geordie Shore favourite Vicky, it was her very first time in the dance-off.

Who left Strictly Come Dancing in week 8?

Following the dance-off in tonight’s result show (November 16), Vicky Pattison became the seventh celebrity to leave Strictly in series 23. It was another unanimous decision with Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all deciding to save Balvinder.

Craig Revel Horwood had the casting vote this week, but once again it was not needed. However, he said he would have also voted to save Balvinder as well.

Speaking after his exit, Vicky said: “It was so lovely while it lasted and I’ve had the nicest time. I knew this week was a difficult one for me and I tried my hardest, as I have every week.

“Listen, I didn’t think I’d get past week one. And I’m really honoured to have shared this experience with so many amazing people. Mostly with this fella (Widdrington) right here.

“I don’t want to sound too cheesy but (to Kai) you’ve been the best partner a girl can ask for.

“I’m so sorry I didn’t get you to Blackpool but I feel like I’ve won just by having you as my partner and I’m so grateful.”
