The renowned ballet company from Bulgaria, known for its high-caliber performances of classical and contemporary ballet, will take the spotlight for four shows at Royal & Derngate theatre in Guildhall Road, from Monday to Wednesday, March 3 to 5 – for all tickets and more information visit www.royalandderngate.co.uk.
Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare’s tale of primal passion and timeless tragedy, is brought to life by Prokofiev’s soaring score, set in bustling Renaissance Verona and with an emotionally charged choreography that befits the world’s greatest love story. It plays March 3, 7.30pm.
Swan Lake, regarded as the greatest romantic ballet of all time, will be performed on the second night, March 4, 7.30pm.
The Nutcracker, the most famous of fantasy ballets for all the family, begins as night falls on Christmas Eve. It will be performed twice, with a matinee and evening show, to close the run and UK tour, on March 5, 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
RG Live presents the return of the celebrated Varna International Ballet and Orchestra to the UK following a breathtaking debut tour in 2023.
The company will perform beloved classics as they visit 20 venues around the UK in 2025.
Led by Artistic Director Daniela Dimova, with Music Director and Chief Conductor Peter Tuleshkov, Varna International Ballet charm audiences who are new to ballet and balletomanes alike.

The Nutcracker is the most famous of fantasy ballets, set against the backdrop of a very magical Christmas Eve.
As snowflakes fall outside, the warm glow of the open fire sends flickering shadows across the boughs of the Christmas tree and all the presents beneath. When midnight strikes we are swept away to a fairy-tale world where nothing is quite as it seems.
