Vinyl arrives at Northampton shops ready for annual Record Store Day
Vinyl by the likes of Taylor Swift, CMAT, Lil Peep and Charli XCX are among a host of releases which will be up for grabs at two Northampton shops this weekend when Record Store Day returns.
Spun Out in Gold Street and Vinyl Underground in Abington Street will be selling a selection of this year’s records and in recent days have been receiving this year’s stock.

Both shops will open at 8am on Saturday, April 18, with queues expected from the early hours of the morning.
Spun Out owner Chris Kent, pictured with releases by CMAT, Lil Peep, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX and Elvis Presley, said: “It’s a big list this year and I’ve had lots of people coming in to request different titles. I’ve ordered a lot and this time around there’s a lot of interesting titles.
“We’ve had a lot of people asking about the Taylor Swift release, but there’s been a lot of interest around the Bowie and Muse records.
“KPop Demon Hunters is another which has been popular and there’s two editions of that – the Saja Boys and HUNTER/X.”
Record Store Day has been taking place annually since 2008 and seeks to champion independent record shops across the UK.
On social media, both Mr Kent and Vinyl Underground owner Aidy West Harland have been previewing some of the releases they will be selling.
Other acts releasing limited edition vinyl for Record Store Day include Alfie Templeman, Black Sabbath, Bring Me The Horizon, Deafheaven, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, HAIM, Kiss, Madonna, Olivia Dean, Pink Floyd, Roxy Music, Self Esteem, Tom Grennan, Weezer and Xzibit.
There will be live music during the day at Spun Out by acts including DJ Scottie, Swiss Vince, Woegetter and Beings.
At Vinyl Underground, there will be bacon and sausage rolls and coffee available for those queuing early as well as DJs instore too.
Remaining items can be sold by record stores online from Monday, April 20.
The Black Prince in Abington Square will be holding a record fair the same day from 10.30am in its garden with local dealers.
Spiral Archive records will also be holding a half-price sale as part of another record fair taking place at The Lamplighter in Overstone Road from midday.
