slowthai has sent out thousands of surprise postcards to fans, thanking them for their support.

The Northampton rapper recently revealed his follow up to 2019’s Mercury Music nominated debut album Nothing Great About Britain is finished.

No date has been set for its release, but it is expected to be out next year.

Writing on Twitter, slowthai said: “Last week I spent 2 days signing and sending out a few thousand surprise postcards at random to you lot.

“I couldn’t send one to everyone but I hope you know you’re forever appreciated… album 2 is done. love to you all.”

The postcards show a smiling slowthai, in a style similar to that made famous by Aphex Twin on the cover of his 1996 LP, Richard D. James Album.

On the signed postcard, slowthai thanks fans for their support, admits his shortcomings and explains that he is working each day to better himself.

He signs off by saying, “My new album will come soon and I hope it provides an insight into this exploration and what we share in common.”

slowthai has released a number of singles since the release of his debut album as well as guesting on other artists’ tracks.

His most recent single Feel Away was released in September and saw him team up with James Blake and Mount Kimble.
