One Voice musicians to come together for charity concert at The Deco

More than 20 acts who feature on the One Voice compilation album are coming together for a gig at The Deco theatre in November.

Acts who featured on a recent fundraising compilation CD, which showcases musicians from across the county, will join up for a live concert later this year.

The One Voice compilation was put together by musician and producer Tommy Gardner and released in August.

Mr Gardner has now revealed 23 acts who feature on the record will perform at The Deco theatre in Northampton in November.

He said: “Throughout production of One Voice, I had thoughts of putting together a live version of the album and I had a few people also suggest the idea.

“After discussions with the theatre and the artists, the ‘green light’ was given to proceed.

“As restrictions on live performance were relaxed it felt like the perfect time and reason for this return to the stage.”

There will be live performances by Billy Lockett, That Joe Payne, Deeanne Dexeter, the Northampton Male Voice Choir Lite, Amii Dawes, Greg Coulson, Robyn Wilson, Velvet Engine, Flo, Vickii Stocker, JessOrestano, Celeste Charles, Philclarkful, Jenna Hone, Celine Ellis, Tony Carr, Joe Corkram, Tu-Ky & Ryan, Scott Walters, Kara Hamer, Saving Amy, Subculture and Hazey Jane.

It will be hosted by Wayne Bavin from BBC Radio Northampton.

The event, and all of the performances, will confirm to Government social distancing guidelines.

Mr Gardner said: “I’m expecting the concert to be a very special moment marking the return of live music into theatre after such a long time.

“There are many restrictions in place and guidelines to follow but I know that this will be an incredible event for all.”

One Voice The Concert will take place at the Abington Square theatre on Saturday, November 21.

It will be raising money for the Northamptonshire Community Foundation’s coronavirus response and recovery fund.

It will be split into two parts which begin at 2pm and 7pm.

The compilation is also be available to buy at St Giles Music in St Giles Terrace, Northampton, from September 7.
