Handbags at dawn for stage version of Wilde's classic play
The much loved Pantaloons Theatre Company is bringing one of Oscar Wilde's most loved plays to life at Kettering Arts Centre.
The Importance of Being Earnest is being staged on Saturday.
This energetic show featured all the usual Wildean wit, plus a few Pantaloony surprises.
These will include some singing butlers, travel by means of musical montage, a post-interval Hollywood-style recap and an interactive gameshow The Bracknell Factor.
“You must not laugh at me, darling, but it had always been a girlish dream of mine to love someone whose name was Ernest…” Yes, everybody loves Ernest but the only trouble is – he doesn’t exist. Or does he?
Few people tackle literary works quite like the Pantaloons and Oscar Wilde’s comic masterpiece is no exception as the company present their inimitable anarchic take on this classic comedy of manners.
Tickets for the show are £10 for adults and £9 for concessions. Doors open at 7pm and start at 7.30pm.
