The first team to push the barrel over the heads of the other team three times wins. The battle begins at midday, but head to Eleanor Cross for 11.30 to watch the parade.

The tradition of the Geddington Squirt is a Boxing Day favourite. The Geddington Voluntary Fire Brigade take on Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue in a water fight. The teams stand on opposite sides of the ford and try to push a barrel over the other team with their hoses.
Nights out over Christmas are a different sort of tradition, but you might be fancying a big night after a family Christmas. The Palace in Wellingborough are holding a Boxing Day party.

Rushden Working Men's Club are holding a family-friendly entertainment event on Boxing Day with Simon Ore, who will be performing hits from rock and roll to reggae and pop. The event is running from 1pm-4pm.
The Midland Band Club are hosting a Boxing Day Disco for members, non-members and friends. The bar will be open from 11am-11pm and the free disco will be from midday until 6pm. They say bring your own picnic!
From midday until 6pm, Thrapston Sports Association will be hosting their Boxing Day Disco, which they say is "back by popular demand".
If you fancy a Boxing Day walk in wildlife, why not head down to Stanwick Lakes for a guided walk? Walkers will meet at 10am by the rangers cabin.
Kettering will be taking on their rivals from across the border, Market Harborough, this Boxing Day. Kick-off is at 11am and there will be nibbles after the game.
