Blancmange top Stables shows

British electronic band Blancmange are among the highlights of a busy week at The Stables.

Led by Neil Arthur (pictured), the band broke through in the early 80s with their mix of snythpop and surrealism.

Following’s last year’s critically acclaimed albums Semi Detached and Nil By Mouth, Blancmange released Commuter 23 this month - a record with a darker, more aggressive, electronic minimalism.

They play the Wavendon venue on Monday, March 21.

Tickets cost £19.50 before fees, doors open at 8pm.

Tomorrow night, Findlay Napier plays the venue, with support by The Black Feathers.

Napier made his name touring and recording with multi-award winning traditional Scottish folk band Back of the Moon. His recent LP VIP: Very Interesting Persons was one of the Telegrpah’s top folk albums of last year.

Support is by award winning Americana folk duo The Black Feathers who recently released their debut album Soaked To The Bone which includes the singles Down By The River and Winter Moves.

Since the release of band’s 2014 debut EP, the duo of Sian Chandler Ray Hughes have been championed by Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson.

Doors open at 8.45pm, tickets cost £10 in advance.

On Sunday, Panic Room return to the venue as part of their Star The Sound’ UK tour.

Fronted by Anne-Marie Helder, the band’s line up includes Gavin John Griffiths, Yatim Halimi, Jonathan Edwards and Dave Foster.

Next Wednesday, Andrew Roachford headlines the venue. Roachford released his latest album Encore this month
