Afrobeats act Great Adamz celebrates sold-out Valentine’s Day show featuring Northants acts
The headline act who performed at a Valentine’s Day sold-out gig showcasing musicians from across Northampton has spoken of his pride in bringing people from across the town together for the event.
Afrobeats singer-songwriter Great Adamz headlined the Hearts & Harmony show which was held at St Crispin Community Centre earlier this month.

Talking about the event, he said: “Northampton showed up in a way that I’ve never seen before.
“I love this town and love the people, I love the diversity and the intensity.
“The show itself was amazing having a full house on Valentine’s Day was something I thought might not be possible but selling out two weeks to the event gave me a lot of confidence that we are doing something special here.”
He added it was a surreal moment when he walked on stage with The 99 Band - his backing musicians – to see people standing excited and hear them cheering.
The line-up featured a host of names from across the Northants music scene including Napps, Maddox Jones and Nerissa Simmone.
Great Adamz was keen to champion everyone who performed and highlight the support acts in the town give each other.
He said: “Northampton is the one place I know that artists actually like each other and want to support each other.
“I only had to make one call to Nerissa Simmone, Maddox Jones and Napps and they all agreed to come on board.
“I wanted to really show case the diversity in sound and genre.
“We had Napps rapping and we had Maddox doing some pop and RnB.
“Nerissa & The Vibe then showed up with the soul and blues and of course I headlined with some Afro beats.”
Adamz said the success of the night wouldn’t have been possible without his tour manager Chinenye Mbakwe and music director Ifeoluwa Awonugba and band which features drummer Goodluck Ogaga Agbele, bassist OgheneKaro Ovie, lead guitarist Lucio Baxter, saxophonist Raheem Oluwapelumi Paul Babatunde, keyboard player Tiklli Ariel Ayiba Onimite and dancer Jessica Nwabuisi.
Great Adamz released his debut album Blessed Boy at the end of 2024.
His singles and videos have collectively amassed millions of views and listens across streaming platforms.
Looking ahead to 2026, he said: “We have released music and promoted songs non-stop in the last 16 months so I think am going to take the next few weeks and just recoup and rest then I’ll be back in the studio working on my next album.
“There is a tour announcement on the way as well - without giving too much away.”
