The prop came off the bench in the 13-11 win at Bath on Saturday to reach the milestone, which is a league record.

Waller replaced his brother, Ethan, with half an hour to go and helped his club to a fourth successive victory.

It was a proud moment for the 25-year-old, who is a product of the Saints Academy.

And when asked the secret behind his ability to play so many league games in succession, Waller said: “A lot of it is luck.

“I’m not going to say I do anything different to anyone else because I don’t.

“A lot of it is luck and I’ve been very lucky to be able to play that many games and be involved.

“I work hard off the pitch, but so does everyone else.

“It just so happens that I’ve been lucky and I’ll keep trying and doing what I do.

“Here’s to 100 more, but we’ll see.”
