Burger appeared at an RFU disciplinary hearing at London’s Bloomsbury Inn on Tuesday evening, having been charged with striking Saints prop Alex Waller and illegally charging into a ruck.

The 32-year-old will now miss Saracens’ Champions Cup game against Toulouse at Allianz Park on Saturday.

He will be free to play again on November 17.

Saints were frustrated with the lack of action taken against another Saracens player, Owen Farrell, during Saturday’s game.

Farrell pushed Tom Wood in the face, but, after reviewing the incident, referee Luke Pearce decided no punishment was necessary.

The Saracens fly-half went on to kick the penalty given for a late tackle by Wood in the lead-up to that flashpoint, and a further three Farrell kicks gave the away side a 12-6 victory at Franklin’s Gardens.

Farrell will not face any retrospective action.
