And the affable prop says there is huge desire to do it all over again in the forthcoming campaign.

Saints claimed Amlin Challenge Cup and, most importantly, Aviva Premiership glory last season.

It was a memorable nine months and Corbisiero, who returned to fitness to play his part in the games that mattered most, is now targeting a repeat performance.

“Being champions is a new position for us to be in but the culture we have means there’s no chance of complacency or taking our foot off the pedal,” Corbisiero said.

“It was great to win a first championship but we can’t afford to let off if we want to build on that success.

“It’s such a competitive league – there are so many teams that have a realistic chance of winning it.

“After winning the Premiership and the Amlin last year, we want to win the European Rugby Champions Cup and trying to get our name on that trophy as well as defending our league title is going to drive everyone.

“It should be an exciting year for the club.”
