Saints winger Pisi determined to end season on a high

The 24-year-old wing, who moved to Northampton from North Harbour last summer, has been in good form since returning from injury in the game London Welsh last month.

Pisi, like many of his team-mates, shone in a sun-drenched, seven-try demolition of Sale last time out and he is growing into life at Franklin’s Gardens.

And the brother of reigning Saints player of the year, George, admits there is a feelgood factor around the squad right now.

“There’s a lot of positivity in the team at the moment because the weather’s getting better and us island boys are happier now,” said the ever-smiling Samoan.

“We’re happy and enjoying our rugby and hopefully good things happen from there.”

Saints head to Harlequins this afternoon (ko 2.30pm) looking to make it three wins on the spin in the Aviva Premiership.

And Pisi knows a victory would be the perfect preparation for next weekend’s play-off semi-final at Saracens or Leicester.

He said: “We’ve struggled a bit in the past against the top three teams and to get a win this weekend would mean a lot to us going into the semi-final.

“It’s always another level in the play-off game and whoever we play it will be a tough game, but the boys are just focused on this week and getting over it in good form.”

And Pisi would dearly love to add to his try tally, which stands at three in 21 appearances, at The Stoop this weekend.

“I’m enjoying it and playing well,” he said. “I’ve had a few good runs and I’m just looking to get involved in the game.

“I can always get better, but I’m happy with where I am.”
