Stephen Myler says he is ‘over the moon’ to have been named in England’s 50-man Rugby World Cup training squad.

Myler joins Saints team-mates Alex Corbisiero, Dylan Hartley, Courtney Lawes, Tom Wood, Calum Clark, Lee Dickson and Luther Burrell in the party.

Those men were informed by text on Tuesday, and Myler said: “I’m over the moon to get that text, but there’s a lot of graft to go before that comes round.

“I’m looking forward to getting involved and putting my best foot forward.”

Dorian West was delighted to see so many Saints players get the call.

The forwards coach said: “We’re really pleased with it.

“We’ve got a lot of lads who have held their hands up this season and over the years we’ve had a lot in that environment. It’s good to see that continuing.”
