We've let ourselves down in the last two weeks, says Saints centre Dingwall

Fraser Dingwall feels Saints have let two games get away in as many weeks.

The centre was impressive against Harlequins on Sunday, playing a part in all three tries for the black, green and gold.

But it wasn't enough for victory as Quins secured a 37-19 bonus-point success, despite spending a lengthy spell during the second half playing with just 13 men.

Saints failed to score a single point during that time, fluffing their lines in the bid for a try that would have given them a bonus point and breathed new life into their victory bid.

It was a second successive defeat for Chris Boyd's side, who had won four in a row prior to their home defeat against Bath on the final day of last month.

And Dingwall said: "These past two weeks are games we'll look back on and feel quite let down by - and we are very frustrated.

"I think the issue was that we went away from being ourselves and we weren't process-driven enough.

"We were forcing things that led to us not converting and we gifted them too many soft points.

"It's how much can you resist chasing the game?

"When you look back on the scoreline, it will be 18 points when realistically two tries came within one or two phases and that's massive for them in terms of transition attack is where a lot of their tries come from.

"Limiting that was always going to be big but we played into their hands by turning the ball over in our own half.

"Chasing the game, it's something you have to resist and you have to be as process-driven as possible.

"We know we create a lot and by creating so much we know we'll almost walk over the line but it's how disciplined we can be to keep doing what we're doing and be unfazed.

"We had a good bit of momentum at the start of the second half and those two yellow cards were a result of the pressure we applied to Harlequins.

"There was a stoppage in the game (due to an injury) and it went slightly wrong.

"We missed out on a couple of opportunities near their line - a maul went down and there was a bounce of a ball.

"If you don't convert, the pressure valve releases for Harlequins and it was a completely different outlook for them whereas if one of those tries goes over, we're pressing again.

"Our inability to convert in their end zone was the big thing."
