The black, green and gold had suffered huge frustration in a 28-21 loss to Bristol Bears on the previous Sunday.

But they banished those demons with a comprehensive 62-14 Gallagher Premiership success against Worcester Warriors.

Saints scored nine tries in all, with Ollie Sleightholme grabbing four of them, and it keeps them in touch with the top four.

"We had to take the learnings from that (Bristol) game because you can't finish in the top four if you lose games like that, but to bounce back was good," Vesty said.

"The boys came out in the second half and really took the game to Worcester.

"It was what we were hoping to do for the full 80 minutes but in the first half we weren't quite at the races.

"We did repel some quite good attack from Worcester and to come away with the Sleights try just before half-time was really good timing for us.

"There were a few stern words at half-time because we weren't doing what we wanted to do and how we want to do it.

"The boys came out at half-time and put the game to bed."
