'There's no one better at it than Ace' - Grayson salutes Saints team-mate Tuala's finishing

James Grayson says 'there's no one better at it than Ace' after the Samoan scored a sensational bonus-point try for Saints at London Irish on Saturday.

Saints looked set to miss out on the maximum haul they wanted as the clock ticked down at the Twickenham Stoop.

But Grayson delivered a fantastic flat pass to Tuala on the right wing, and the Samoan did the rest, beating two men before delivering the most acrobatic of finishes in the corner.

It rounded off a 27-3 win in the perfect possible style.

And Grayson, who started at fly-half, said: "All the Samoan and Fijian lads practice their finishes in the corner just messing around, and there's no one better at it than Ace.

"He's got some serious skills, as we've seen in the past, so when you put him in a bit of space, you feel confident he's going to put it away."

Saints struggled to deliver such moments in the first period, but they really clicked after half-time, scoring four times to banish memories of the 3-3 scoreline at the break.

"The majority of the boys who played on Saturday probably hadn't played yet so it probably took 30 or 40 minutes to warm up and get into it," Grayson said.

"Playing into the wind second half we knew we needed to hold on to the ball and keep possession a bit more and we did that.

"Hats off to the forwards, two penalty tries always makes it a little bit easier and we had two tries from our flying wingers (Tuala and Tom Collins)."

Grayson played alongside scrum-half Alex Mitchell, and the talented young pair produced some nice moments.

"Mitch played last week (against Wasps) and we probably saw some unlike-him errors," Grayson said.

"This week, he got the ball off the floor quickly and he's such a running threat when he does get the ball off the floor.

"He's a pleasure to play with and he makes my life really easy.

"It's nice to see him get rid of that rust from the first week and be back on top form this week."
