Scrum-half James Mitchell released by Saints

The scrum-half signed a short-team deal at Franklin's Gardens in August after leaving Connacht.

But with Cobus Reinach now keeping a firm grip on the No.9 shirt, Henry Taylor getting game time, Alex Mitchell, James's brother, close to returning from injury and Connor Tupai also pushing for starts, Mitchell has been released.

He was only able to make seven first-team appearances for Saints.
