Saints star Dingwall delivers update after being stretchered off against Harlequins

Fraser Dingwall says he is 'thankfully all ok' after being stretchered off during Saturday's 66-21 Gallagher PREM win against Harlequins at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens.

Dingwall received lengthy treatment two minutes before the break after making a tackle on Alex Dombrandt and then colliding with the knee of Tommy Freeman on the way down.

The England centre was placed in a neck brace and carried from the field on a stretcher, with the sell-out crowd at the Gardens giving the skipper a warm ovation on a freezing night.

After the game, Saints boss Phil Dowson said: “Fraser Dingwall took a horrible knock but luckily he's up and about and in relatively good spirits, other than being disappointed."

Dowson added: “He’s good. He’s up and about. Obviously he’s a bit shaken up because he was unconscious for a bit, but obviously the medics were around him fast and looking after him so he’s gone through the right procedure.

"We haven’t got any timelines (on when he’ll be back). We’ll just make sure he’s okay, look after him tonight and make sure he’s got people around him.”

And on Monday, Dingwall took to Instagram to thank supporters for their well wishes while giving an update on his health.

Dingwall posted a picture with his team-mates and wrote: "Enjoying rugby with this lot at the moment. Thanks for all the well wishes after the weekend too! I just wanted a snooze after the festive period it seemed but thankfully all ok."
