Town travel to the capital on Monday as they square up to Exeter City in the Sky Bet League Two play-off final (kick-off 7.30pm).

Keith Curle's side secured a stunning semi-final success against Cheltenham Town, overcoming a 2-0 first-leg deficit by winning 3-0 on the road.

It was a sensational triumph that was greeted with widespread glee in Northampton - and that includes at Franklin's Gardens.

“It’s great news that the Cobblers are due to play at Wembley,” Waller said.

“It’s huge for the Town as a whole really - hopefully they can go and do a job down in London and come back with a trophy and promotion.

“It’s obviously just a shame that the whole of Northampton can’t go down there and support them, but it’s been a great effort over the whole season and we wish them all the best.”
