The black, green and gold had lost 12 matches in a row prior to their Boxing Day battle with Worcester Warriors.

But after winning that game, they have gone on the record victories at Gloucester and Wasps at the start of 2021.

Saints will now look to make it four wins in a row when Newcastle Falcons come to Franklin's Gardens on Saturday.

But Boyd knows there is much more work to be done to get Saints to where they feel they should be.

He said: "I recently watched a documentary about Liverpool, 30 years in the making, between one championship to the other and you go through those ebbs and flows of high confidence.

"When you get a roll on, you seem to get the luck.

"But it's still too raw for us from our bad run for us to say we're clear of it.

"We've had three wins in a row, which is really good for us, and we've certainly stopped digging, but we've got a lot of improvement in us yet."

And he added: "We've got a big period of Premiership games ahead of us and it will test the depth of everyone's squad.

"It gets tested in all sorts of ways in terms of injury, fatigue and guys away on international duty and it's a tough period of time."
