The severity of Adendorff's problem is as yet unknown, but it opens the door for a return to the first 15 for Wood, who came off the bench in the 13-12 win at Exeter Chiefs last weekend.

It is one of two changes in the pack, with Nick Auterac coming in to face one of his former clubs. Alex Waller is given a slight breather on the bench.

Tom James starts at scrum-half as Alex Mitchell was called up by England, while Taqele Naiyaravoro and Tommy Freeman also start, in place of Ollie Sleightholme and Ahsee Tuala respectively.

Adendorff joins Teimana Harrison (hand), Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi (Achilles), Owen Franks (foot), Manny Iyogun (ankle) and Kayde Sylvester (Achilles).

Courtney Lawes suffered a pectoral injury with England this week and Saints are still waiting to discover the extent of it.

Dan Biggar remains with Wales as he prepares to start against England in Cardiff on Saturday.
