Langdon 'tracking well' as Saints forward targets return to action

Saints scrum coach Jaco Pienaar says Curtis Langdon is ‘tracking well’ as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.

Langdon has not been able to play so far this season after undergoing surgery last summer.

The England hooker remains on the ‘not considered for selection’ list for Friday’s PREM Rugby Cup clash with Newcastle Red Bulls at Kingston Park.

But when asked at Wednesday’s media session about how Langdon is getting on, Pienaar said: “He's tracking well.

"He's busy with his contact progression and his work on the S&C (strength and conditioning) side but he's looking good.

"With Matt (Lee), head of medical, with Tommy Bullough, head of S&C, there's so much experience in them. They're working with me regarding scrums, working with the other coaches regarding his contact stuff.

"We're happy just to progress him through and make him ready.

"It's always about how he reacts to a new stimulus and then you can always take a step back or keep him at that point or take him forward.

"It's all about that progression and just getting through it.”
