Good news for Saints as latest Covid-19 results are released

There were no positive tests at Franklin's Gardens this week

While there was one positive test out of a total of 1,043 across the league this week, it is understood no one at Franklin's Gardens tested positive.

Since Premiership Rugby's screening programme started at the beginning of July, Saints had one player test positive in six of the seven rounds, between July 6 and August 12.

But they were all clear this week, meaning no one is forced to miss out due to self-isolation.

Overall, the news is extremely good for the league in general this week because the highest number of tests were carried out, but the fewest people so far tested positive.

Saints go to London Irish on Saturday for their second match since the Gallagher Premiership resumed last weekend.

The results so far...

Week One (July 6) - 804 players and club staff were tested. Of these, 10 people tested positive. Of those 10, six were players (one from Saints) and four non-playing staff

Week Two (July 13) - 856 players and club staff were tested. Of these, nine people tested positive. Of those nine, seven were players and two non-playing staff.

Week Three (July 20) – 896 players and club staff were tested. Of these, two players (one from Saints) tested positive.

Week Four (July 27) - 846 players and club staff were tested. Of these, five people tested positive. Of those five, four were players (one from Saints) and one was a non-playing member of staff.

Week Five (August 3) - 917 players and club staff were tested. Of these, two people tested positive. Of those two, one is a player (from Saints) and one is a non-playing member of staff.

Week Six (test one) (August 10) – 989 players and club staff were tested. Of those four people tested positive. Of those three, one is a player (from Saints) and three are non-playing members of staff.

Week Six (test two) (August 12) - 956 players and club staff were tested. Of those seven people tested positive. Of those seven, five are players (one from Saints) and two are members of staff.

Week Seven (August 19) - 1,043 players and club staff were tested. Of those one player tested positive.
