The club then had a boxer out in the brand new Midlands BoxCup, which is a novice tournament for junior boxers, with Thomas Mctier boxing his way to a silver medal.

Macphee’s effort in London followed on from him winning the East Midlands Youth Challenge Belt at super heavyweight as well as silver at the England Boxing National Youth Championships.

Robinson also won gold at the England Boxing Womens Winter Box Cup while fellow member Preston Wills won bronze at the England Boxing National Junior Championships.

Away from the ring, Macphee was named as the student/boxer of the programme at his boxing based college education setting at the DISE Programme in Tamworth, which is headed up by England Pathway coach Ivan Cobb.

The club also have their in-house Catherine Wilson Memorial Cup, which is a yearly boxer of the year award voted for by the team’s boxers currently held by Robinson.

The club, which is sponsored by Baileys Skip Hire, was established by head coach Phil Wilson and his partner Charlotte Gilgannon.

And Wilson said: “When establishing our club we decided on a small team of boxers, never more than 15 at any given time and, as well as that, a small team of coaches.

“Our hope was to build a family feel and close bond between us all. We’ve had a few come and go in terms of boxers but due to our waiting list, we are still sat at 15 and we work on one out, one in to keep the numbers low.

“The team effort here from all involved is phenomenal. We’ve recently upskilled our excellent coaches with both Danny Wills and Dean Kenrick both completing their Level 2 coaching qualifications and Charlotte completing her Level 1.

“It’s thanks to these three that we get to keep pushing on and hopefully bring much more success to our small village Boxing Club in the new season.”

The full team of 15 boxers at the club is made up of Casey Stevenson, Mason Stevenson, Robbie Stevenson, Tiana Robinson, Monte Macphee, Preston Wills, Thomas Mctier, Joseph Mctier, Jordan Mctier, Nikita Moffat, Lewis Mcgrady, Curtis Mcgreevy, Ryan Blair, Kyle Hull and Ewan Fergusson.
