World champion Lewis Hamilton has tested positive for coronavirus and will miss this weekend's Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain.

The Mercedes driver cruised to his 10th win of the season on Sunday at the same venue, but it was a race marred by a fiery accident involving Romain Grosjean on the opening lap, which saw the race stopped and heavily delayed.

Hamilton was tested regularly during the course of the race weekend, but felt mild symptoms on Monday morning and has since returned two positive tests and will isolate in accordance to guidelines.

Mercedes are yet to announce a replacement driver to partner Valtteri Bottas for the Sakhir Grand Prix but it is likely the team's reserve driver and former McLaren man Stoffel Vandoorne will partner the Finn.
