There had been doubts over the fitness of the likes of Ben Foden and Kahn Fotuali’i, who both missed the final pre-season game at Leinster last Friday.

But their absence appears to have been purely precautionary and they can play a part against the Chiefs on Saturday.

Wales wing George North is set to make his debut and captain Dylan Hartley is available following the conclusion of his 11-week ban for his red card in the Premiership final in May.

“Not everyone has been fully fit all the time (during pre-season) but we’ve taken a few precautions because when you get to this first game you do want everyone fit,” said Mallinder.

“We’re fortunate that everyone’s available for selection this weekend.”
