Former Saint Lamb loving life at Leicester

And the fly-half says the Welford Road environment is the best he’s been in, labelling the setup ‘fantastic’.

Former Gloucester and London Irish man Lamb spent two years at Saints before leaving to join Leicester this summer.

His final game in the green, black and gold was the Premiership final defeat to Tigers at Twickenham in May.

And, in an interview with the Leicester Mercury, he said: “If you can’t beat them, join them!”

“I have been in the Premiership for eight or nine years now, and you know what Leicester is like from the outside.

“The environment is so professional and is the best one I have been in, in terms of strength and conditioning staff, and the strength of the squad and coaching staff.

“Everything is there for you. They even wash your kit, which my missus is very grateful for!

“It’s a fantastic environment and I feel very lucky to be here.”

Lamb will scrap it out with England star Toby Flood and Welshman Owen Williams for the No.10 shirt at Tigers and is already relishing the challenge.

He got his first taste of action in Leicester colours in a recent friendly against Montpellier, and said: “It has been awesome since I joined the club and to finally put the shirt on was great.

“You can see the passion in the boys’ eyes when they play for the club.

“To play for Leicester is a big honour.”
