“I’ve always enjoyed playing down here,” said the 25-year-old.

“You get a good crowd and it’s always a sell-out.

“They’re a knowledgeable crowd, they know what they’re talking about, when to shout, when to cheer and when to boo the referee.

“It’s been good fun.

“I’ve really felt the fans have got behind me as a player and behind the club.

“It’s not been the easiest start rugby wise but you could feel the noise in the Scarlets and Saracens games.”
Gibson’s decision to walk the rarely used path between Leicester and Saints surprised some onlookers.
And he said: “It was a very difficult decision.

“Leicester are a top side and have been for years. I had a very good two years there.

“Looking forward for me, it was about the rugby side of things, expanding the way I play and I was just looking for something different.

“It wasn’t an easy decision to join. I knew the history of the clubs, I had a great two years at Leicester and enjoyed it a lot.

“It was difficult to come down, but I’m really enjoying it here now.”
