Goalkeeper White and midfielder Meikle were among a list of eight players who were offered fresh terms by Poppies boss Paul Cox seven days ago.

And, with the Kettering manager keen to have answers from those players, two have now confirmed their departures from the club on social media.

White made 159 appearances for the Poppies after joining the club in September 2016 and, like Meikle, was a key part of the Southern League Premier Central title-winning squad last year.

Writing on Twitter, White said: “159 Appearances & Out.

“I have made the tough decision to leave @KTFCOfficial for pastures new and a new challenge.

“Loved every second of my 4 seasons at such a great club. Great Memories & friends that I will cherish for life. I wish you all nothing but success. Whitey.”

Meikle racked up 134 appearances in a Poppies shirt and scored 16 goals including memorable strikes against the likes of Stourbridge, AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Needham Market during that title-winning campaign.

Also confirming his departure on Twitter, Meikle wrote: “My time at @KTFCOfficial has come to an end.

“I’d like to thank the fans, players and staff for my experiences I’ve had at the club! It’s been great!

“I’m sure the club will continue to build and grow to get back to where it should be! All the best.”

It means four of last season’s National League North squad have now left Kettering after both Aaron O’Connor and Dan Nti were released.
