Toll makes a scoring return but Steelmen frustrated in Racing Club stalemate
Fletcher Toll made a scoring return to Steel Park as Corby Town claimed a 1-1 draw with Racing Club Warwick in the Pitching-In Northern Premier League Midlands Division on Wednesday night.
Toll has rejoined the club on loan from King’s Lynn Town, and netted a late equaliser as the Steelmen fought back from conceding in the seventh minute to claim a share of the spoils.

There was also a debut for Tyler Winters, who joined Corby on Tuesday having been released by AFC Rushden & Diamonds after he was red-carded for fighting team-mate Bruno Andrade on the pitch last weekend.
Racing Club were reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of skipper Kyle Barnett after 36 minutes, and although Corby then dominated and had plenty of chances they had to settle for a draw.
“There are positives and negatives to come from the game,” Mettam told @corbytownfc. “I am positive after how we performed in the first half on Saturday, that we have actually gone out and been able to play.
“We were able to pass the ball and move the ball, which we didn’t do on Saturday, but again we have had a slow start and conceded and that has put us on the back foot and we have had to come from behind again.
“I thought we were much the better team, and obviously they were sent down to 10 men and if I am honest I thought that was harsh, it was maybe an orange card at tops.
“We have then kept them on the back foot with some decent play at times, and then we have had at least three efforts off the line, hit the bat again, and they are just the little bits of luck that don’t seem to be ricocheting in the right areas for us at the minute.
“It was great to see Fletch come back and get a goal, and obviously the fans love him here and he has come back in and got straight on the scoresheet which is great to see.”
The Steelmen are back in action this weekend when they host rock-bottom Rugby Town, and the team will be aiming to secure a first home Saturday win under Mettam.
“If we perform how we did on Wednesday we will be fine, if we perform how we did last Saturday (in a 2-0 defeat to Bedworth) then we will have a rude awakening
“I have said to the lads that it’s all about how we prepare from now until Saturday.
“We have to prepare right, like it’s a cup final, and put all the Saturdays that we can’t seem to get a win on behind us, and get that Saturday win.”
