The Steelmen boss has been active in the transfer market over the past few weeks and this week saw returns to the club for striker Andre Johnson and defender Jamie Anton while centre-half Liam Marshall also agreed a new deal at Steel Park.

It’s a new era for Corby following their relegation from the Vanarama National League North.

They will be training during the day in line with the club’s academy and are preparing to compete in the new surroundings of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Wright believes he has “got it right this time” as far as recruitment is concerned after he conceded he made mistakes during last summer for what proved to be a doomed campaign.

The Corby squad report back for pre-season next Saturday (July 2) ahead of their first friendly at Eynesbury Rovers on July 12.

And Wright said: “The squad is really taking shape.

“I have said all along that I wanted to get it more or less done before we return for pre-season and that’s what has happened.

“I made a couple of mistakes last year because there were a couple who didn’t gel into the group.

“I learned a lot last season and I believe I have got it right this time.

“Now I can’t wait to get back and get the lads fit and ready for the first friendly.”
