The company’s directors in turn asked the Diamonds board of directors to choose a good cause to be on the front of the shirts with the decision being to offer the advertising to Rushden Mind.

It is a registered charity affiliated to National Mind, one of the leading mental health charities in England and Wales. Rushden Mind works to promote and support good mental health within Rushden and East Northamptonshire.

The charity’s chief executive officer Sherry Adams said: “We are thrilled at the news and would like to thank the club for choosing us as its charity of the year.

“It truly is fantastic news and we look forward to further promoting the charitable work of Mind in the Rushden and East Northamptonshire communities as the shirt sponsor for our local Community Football Club. It is great to be able cement and develop our links in the area.

“On a personal note, I must admit it’s been a long time since I watched a football game myself, but I am delighted and look forward to coming along for a game!”

The club received 25 entries from companies, individuals and supporter groups for their shirt sponsorship raffle and commercial director John Gregory said: “I would personally like to thank all the companies, individuals and supporter groups who entered the raffle. In these difficult times we reached our entry target.

“A big thank you to the supporters who promoted the raffle and help increase the number of entries.

“Finally, my thanks to Macron Store Northamptonshire for donating the winner’s prize to a good cause as Rushden Mind.”
