Ashley Robinson believes Corby Town’s first real setback in the BetVictor Southern League Division One Central will only drive his team to “be even better” in the future.

The Steelmen’s unbeaten league record was ended last weekend as they suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to lowly Kempston Rovers at Steel Park.

Corby also lost top spot as a result of that setback with Berkhamsted taking over at the summit after they claimed a 5-0 victory at Biggleswade.

The Steelmen, who now sit in second spot, welcome the currently unbeaten league leaders to Steel Park for a top-of-the-table clash next weekend.

But, before then, Corby must try to get back on track.

And, on the face of it, they have a good opportunity to do so tomorrow (Saturday) when they head to rock-bottom Wantage Town.

Wantage have lost all 12 of their league games so far this season, shipping 57 goals in the process.

However, Corby joint-manager Robinson insists his team will take nothing for granted as they bid to bounce back at the first attempt.

“We will prepare right and go into the game with the attitude as we always have,” he said.

“Our unbeaten run came to an end last Saturday but now we want to try to start another one.

“We won’t disrespect or undermine any team in this league.

“You saw last weekend that anyone can beat anyone because Kempston came and did a job on us.

“So we will be prepare properly and the reaction of the lads has been very good.

“We had a good session on Tuesday where we did a bit of fitness work and there was a real togetherness.

“That’s something I have mentioned a lot and one setback isn’t going to change that.

“If anything, it should push us on to be even better.

“I am definitely not worried. We will go to Wantage in a good frame of mind and we will be looking to get straight back on track."
