Sheriff has been an impressive performer during pre-season and scored the only goal of the game in last night's (Wednesday) friendly success over Hemel Hempstead Town at Latimer Park.

Another striker who featured last night was Sam Jones who has also been confirmed as a new addition at Kettering.

Jones was most recently at Harrogate Town while he had loan spells at Solihull Moors and York City. He has also played for the likes of Alfreton Town, Gateshead and Cheltenham Town in the past.

The Poppies have also reached a deal for Mansfield Town youngster Jamie Chisholm to join the club for this season. The defender is in his second season with the Stags' Under-18 team and has featured heavily in Kettering's pre-season campaign.

And completing the quartet of signings is young goalkeeper Jacob Wood who came through the Kettering academy and has also played for AFC Hinckley and Whitworth. He has been signed as a back-up to first-choice stopper Adam Collin.

The Poppies are due to be back in friendly action on Saturday when they head to National League side King's Lynn Town.
