Two of the recent arrivals – Ibrahim Bakare and Kemy Agustien – featured in the 2-1 win at Daventry Town in the quarter-finals of the NFA Hillier Senior Cup last Tuesday.

Former Cardiff City Under-23 captain Bakare was then handed his Vanarama National League North debut at Latimer Park on Saturday while Agustien was on the bench and striker Tyrone Lewthwaite came on as a substitute after joining from Bedford Town late last week.

Bakare produced a composed display at right wing-back while Lewthwaite gave the Spennymoor defence something different to think about when he was introduced to the action.

Experienced midfielder Agustien, meanwhile, was an unused substitute.

But Glover is willing to give the 36-year-old all the time he needs to get back up to full fitness after a recent injury, in the knowledge he will be needed during a busy schedule for the Poppies.

“I was pleased with their impact,” Glover said when asked about his new signings.

“Ibrahim can play right-back, right side centre-half or right wing-back.

“He’s a great guy and he’s very loud in the dressing-room, which I like.

“He came in at Daventry and I popped my head in and he was talking away and I like that. He’s positive and gets around people.

“We tried to sign Ty a little while ago and we are glad we got it done. He will offer us something different. He’s really pacy.

“With Kemy, he was very tired after the game at Daventry and we need to work with him.

“We’ll give it as long as it takes. He’s going to have a part to play.

“We have got a tough and busy schedule coming up so he will really play a part for us.”
