An inspection of Diamonds' Hayden Road pitch was carried out at 11am this morning and, following rain in the area this morning falling onto an already saturated surface, the ground was left waterlogged.

It means Diamonds’ action for 2019 is now over and they will next be in action on New Year’s Day when they are due to make the short trip to St Ives Town in the BetVictor Southern League Premier Central.

The Poppies held an initial pitch inspection for their Vanarama National League North derby with Brackley Town just after 10am.

An appeal for volunteers to help fork the pitch was made with a second inspection due to be held at 12.30pm. But, with areas of the Latimer Park surface still underwater, the decision to postponed the game was made just after midday.

Paul Cox's team don't have to wait long for some match action, however, as they head to Boston United on Saturday (3pm).

Corby Town's BetVictor Southern League Division One Central match at Yaxley, due to kick off at 1pm, is going ahead with the hosts having a 4G playing surface.
