With Kettering’s Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division campaign seemingly petering out, Law is keen to see his team reach the final for the second season in a row.

The Poppies lost 2-1 to AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the county showpiece last year and Law is keen to see his team go one better.

However, he insists opportunities will still be given to some of the club’s youngsters.

“We will give it a go,” Law said.

“The game has been earmarked as one to give some lads a chance to continue their development.

“But it is a cup semi-final and we were disappointed to lose in the final last year.

“It is a chance to salvage something from this season and we will do our best to get through.”

While the season may be petering out on the pitch, off-field issues have been dominating the headlines in the last week with David Mahoney set to take over the chairmanship at the club with Ritchie Jeune stepping down from the role at the end of the current campaign.

The off-field activities continued yesterday when Paul Cooke was confirmed as the club’s new head of media.

He has been associated with the club for over 30 years and is the current programme editor, statisticia and a presenter/commentator on Poppies TV/Audio.

He said: “I am honoured and delighted to take on this role.

“There is huge untapped potential and I cannot wait to get my teeth into a series of projects that will promote the furure of Kettering Town Football Club.”
