Piercewright asks Kettering Town fans for patience as takeover goes through legal process
Prospective Kettering Town owner Brad Piercewright is warning the club’s supporters that the timeline for the takeover may shift due to delays in due diligence proceedings.
Piercewright and fellow consortium member Craig Norman were both at Latimer Park during last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Halesowen Town – seemingly enjoying their afternoon while sitting and talking with the fans.

Also present was former manager Richard Lavery, who has previously attended a number of games this season.
Since an agreement in principle was announced on September 22, no further comment has been made by Kettering Town or current owner George Akhtar, and that has caused concern within sections of the fanbase at the pace of the sale.

Speaking to the Northants Telegraph, Piercewright wished to update fans and reassure them that he is doing all he can to maintain progress.
“We are nearly four weeks in and George (Akhtar) and Kettering have this week instructed a solicitor and are now going through the onboarding process,” said Piercewright.
“As of now there has been no engagement between both sets of solicitors because they are waiting for Kettering Town to supply information – there’s been one e-mail today (Friday) that George’s solicitors are waiting for documentation.
“So unfortunately, there has been no due diligence that has taken place of yet.

"Normally it takes a couple of weeks to get to that stage, but we’re now four weeks in – I’m confident the process is about to start.
"We are a touch behind on where I wanted it to be but once it starts, let’s hope the information flow is quicker and we start to see the financials, we see contracts, we start to see everything to do with tax and HRMC which is pretty standard.”
In the initial statement after an agreement had been made, no fixed time was given as to when the process would be completed, but the end of 2026 has been muted and Piercewright confirmed that this was still his intention.
“As a group we are still working towards December 31st, that’s the backdrop, but it might get extended another month I imagine in a worst-case scenario.
"It depends how quickly they send the information and what it contains – we will go back with a set of questions once it’s been presented to us.”
