Irchester United and Wellingborough Town had their Buildbase FA Vase hope ended as they fell to defeats in their second-round matches.
The Romans went 2-0 down at Hullbridge Sports before Ryan Lovell pulled one back in the first half but Irchester eventually lost out 3-1 in a game that was suspended for a time due to a floodlight failure.
The Doughboys, meanwhile, suffered a heavy 7-0 loss to Tring Athletic at the Dog & Duck.
Having gone 1-0 down, the game turned just before half-time when the visitors went 2-0 up from the penalty spot while Wellingborough’s Carlos Lewis was sent-off.
And Tring made that numerical advantage count after the break as they scored five more goals.
Desborough Town will be hoping for a better outcome when they head to Worcester City later today (Sunday, 3pm).
Rothwell Corinthians are still searching for their first Future Lions United Counties League Premier Division win of the season.
They remain bottom of the table after a 3-1 home defeat to Oadby Town.
Ben Watts celebrated his first win at the helm and Raunds Town’s first victory of the Division One season as they beat local rivals Rushden & Higham United 2-1 on Friday night.
The game was all-square at 1-1 at half-time with Jory Mann scoring a penalty for the Lankies after the Shopmates had taken the lead.
But Watts’ side grabbed the only goal of the second half to clinch their first win at the 12th attempt.
Elsewhere, it was a bad weekend for the local clubs.
Burton Park Wanderers lost 3-1 at home to high-flying Melton Town while Thrapston Town were well beaten 5-0 at second-placed Lutterworth Town.
