The National League’s regular season has officially been concluded after clubs voted in favour of the ordinary resolution, which has seen the league tables finalised on an unweighted points per game basis.

It has resulted in Barrow being crowned champions of the National League while King’s Lynn Town and Wealdstone have claimed the National League North and South titles respectively to seal automatic promotion.

The ordinary resolution means that the play-offs in all three divisions will now proceed, subject to the competition rules and the applicable government guidance on the phased return of elite sport.

And that’s good news for Kevin Wilkin’s Brackley Town who ultimately finished in fourth place in National League North.

The play-offs are expected to take place at some stage in July and Brackley are set to host Gateshead in their first game with the winners facing a trip to Boston United in the semi-finals.

The ordinary resolution also means there will be no relegation from the North and South divisions but Kettering Town would have avoided the drop anyway as they confirmed a 19th-place finish in the final standings - a decent return after they had been rooted in the bottom two before Paul Cox arrived as manager to change their fortunes at the end of October.

Paul Holleran’s Leamington, meanwhile, finished just above Kettering in 18th place in the final National League North table.

National League chief executive officer Michael Tattersall said: “I congratulate each of our champions clubs on their successful campaigns.

“The enforced curtailment of our season does nothing to discredit the quality of the football played and I am pleased that our clubs have overwhelmingly supported the award of their titles.

“We can now also look towards the completion of end of season play-offs.”
