The Poppies finally returned to action after three weeks without a game when they suffered a 3-2 defeat at Weymouth.

Having fallen behind early on, Kettering then had to put captain Brett Solkhon in goal after Paul Walker was forced off following a clash of heads with George Rigg, which resulted in the goalkeeper having eight stitches in a head wound.

However, they battled back to lead through Dominic Langdon and Liam Canavan but were beaten after the third-placed Terras struck twice in the final 20 minutes.

The defeat left Law’s team in 12th place but only six points behind Hitchin Town, who sit in the final play-off position.

The Poppies head to seventh-placed Hungerford Town at the weekend and Law is in no doubt that there is plenty of life left in the season.

“With the squad we have got, I am still confident that we can do something and I truly believe that,” the Kettering boss said.

“We have had to wait to get back into action and we are capable of playing a lot better than we did at the weekend.

“We have proven that we can go on an unbeaten run and that’s what we have to try to do again.

“If we can get on a good run of form then we will put pressure on those teams above us.

“I am pretty sure there will be lots of twists and turns before the end of April.”

The Poppies, meanwhile, confirmed that forward Saul Williams has now completed a move to Division One Central side Arlesey Town.
